Synopsis

Marking his feature film directorial debut, award winning filmmaker Jim Rothman is re-envisioning the psychological thriller genre, with dramatic realism and richly developed characters.

SCYTHE tells the intense paralleled stories of two feuding detectives, obsessed with unmasking the psyche of The Grim Reaper Killer, and a timid teenaged girl who, in order to survive, is forced to find the heroine within herself.

(A detailed synopsis can be found in the one sheeter, on the INVESTING DETAILS Page)
The goal of SCYTHE is to create a film that audiences will appreciate, focused on fear, intensity, suspense and REALISTIC drama, where characters would react how they would in REAL life, while avoiding all the horror film cliches normally found in these types of films.

No more characters calling out in the dark.
No more running and falling down.
No more damsels in distress.

SCYTHE is a realistic, female-driven psychological thriller that culminates in a epic bridge fight, where the test of survival is determined by how much of a hero you will be.
