Together, we can change the mental health and substance abuse crisis in the United States. More than 100,000 people lost their lives only in 2021, victims of the opioid crisis. Compared to the Vietnam War, which lasted one decade, there are 100% casualties in one year alone.

Suicidal ideation among generation Z increased by 30% last year.

The Daniel Calazans Foundation

is an early-stage 501 (c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to investigate and raise awareness on the interconnection between Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBDs).

At any scale of severity, an untreated mental illness can lead to substance abuse, and that's why we need to break the stigma and treat one or both conditions early.

Generation Z (Gen Z), also called Zoomers, run a higher risk of developing a substance abuse problem than previous age groups. Some 70% of teens of all genders, races and family-income levels say that anxiety and depression are significant problems among their peers.

50% of adult mental health issues start before 14 and 75% of adult mental health before the early 20 years old.
